Birmingham has granted approval for the £200 million tower block on Broad Street

Approval for a 47-storey block of flats on Birmingham’s Broad Street has been granted.

The Essington, located at 90-97 Broad Street, is a £200 million build-to-rent project designed by Glancy Nicholls Architects for Regal Property Group.

145 meters high, featuring an H-shaped floor plan accommodating 525 apartments.

Described by architects as a pinnacle development within an emerging cluster of towers, it is set to be managed by Quantem as quantity surveyor and project manager, with SBK Walsh serving as civil and structural engineer.

Preconstruction is set to begin in either the third or fourth quarter of this year.
