Tarmac recently supported local grassroots football club Lutterworth Athletic with a major redevelopment of its grounds and facilities
The club is due to complete a £1.3 million transformation of its existing facilities at Hall Park in South Leicestershire in June.
As part of the redevelopment, Lutterworth Athletic FC successfully applied for £50,000 funding from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund, which was used towards an extension of the clubhouse.
Andrew Naylor from Tarmac’s Cotesbach site said: “The new facilities for players and supporters of Lutterworth Athletic FC look like they will be a fantastic addition to the community.
“I’m so pleased that we could support part of the regeneration through the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund.”
Michael English, chairman of Lutterworth Athletic FC, said: “This is the culmination of six years of hard work, and I am delighted that the club will have a truly outstanding grassroots football facility which will be a real community asset.
“On behalf of the members and everyone connected with the club I would like to place on record our huge thanks and appreciation to Tarmac and all our supporters.
“So many people have come together and worked with the club over the last six years to turn our vision of creating a football hub that will benefit the community of Lutterworth into a reality.”

About Lutterworth Athletic
As a registered charity run by volunteers with over 450 members, Lutterworth Athletic FC continues to support all age groups and companies in the community.
It is an FA Charter Standard Club, playing in the United Counties Football League and has more than 400 players aged from six to 70 representing 28 teams, including a newly formed Wild Cat Centre for girls.
The club is also home to Brooke House Football Academy, LFA and Lutterworth five-aside leagues, supporting many local businesses including Magna Park and FDS – Football Development Schools.
The new artificial pitch will also be open for all local clubs and schools to use and support Lutterworth RFC, which has a close association with the club.
The Landfill Communities Fund
The Landfill Communities Fund was established by the Government in 1996.
It enables landfill operators to donate part of their annual tax liability to enrolled Environmental Bodies for a variety of approved community and environmental projects.
Through the fund, Tarmac donates around £1 million to projects each year.
