Chance to bid for 1,200-home Thames development

editor

An opportunity to build more than 1,200 new homes in East London has arisen.

Hyde Group subsidiary, the London Homebuilding Partnership (LHP), is seeking a joint venture (JV) partner to deliver the Herringham Quarter scheme, at Charlton Riverside, in Greenwich.

The 10-acre residential-led development site, overlooking River Thames, will deliver 40 per cent affordable properties as well as some commercial spaces at Herringham Road and New Lydenburg Street, it is understood.

Charlton Riverside was designated an ‘Opportunity Area’ by the mayor of London in 2008.

The longer-term aim, however, is to build up to 8,000 new homes in the area, supported by associated infrastructure.

Pre-construction services and construction works are required for the JV partnership, for the first phase of the Herringham Quarter, comprising more than 700 homes, to be built following planning consent.

The response deadline for interested companies is 5pm (UK time) on 6 November, with bids open to shortlisted firms shortly after.

Selected partners would then enter a multi-year development contract.

Partners

  • Fletcher Priest (architect)
  • Buro Happold (engineering consultant)
  • Grant Associates (landscape architect)

Alan Camp Architects has also been linked to the scheme, it is understood.
