Contractors announced for £800m framework

More than 20 suppliers will deliver construction works across the North East.

Procurement group, NEPO, has awarded 24 firms with contracts for its new construction framework. 

The Association of North East Councils bought the scheme, and locations for work include Durham, Northumberland, and Tyne and Wear. 

Specifically, the framework looks to deliver projects related to new builds and improvement works on community and commercial buildings. 

Inside the job  

NEPO has allocated work across 10 lots, which are categorized by location and value. 

Regarding the £800 million budget, lots range from projects worth up to £1 million, to programmes worth up to £50 million. 

NEPO has yet to disclose the duration of the scheme.

In addition to construction works, contractors will also carry out civil engineering, infrastructure and demolition works.
