Broadnook Garden Village is being built by Northamptonshire-headquartered construction company Cora Homes, in partnership with Midlands developer Davidsons Homes.

The wider development will include a 162-space community nursery and 570-capacity primary school, alongside amenities including football pitches, tennis courts and a cricket pavilion.

New local infrastructure will be built, as well as enterprise zones, community hubs and flexible working spaces.

More than half of the development will be devoted to green spaces.

A planning application was approved by Charnwood Borough Council in 2020.

Developers told the BBC £32 million was being invested to construct the Garden Village near to the A46.

Luke Simmons, Cora managing director, said: “We are proud to be co-creating Broadnook Garden Village and in doing so establishing a modern, connected community that will offer residents exceptional homes set among landscaped green areas with open walkways to exercise and immerse in nature.”

Margaret Smidowicz, mayor of the Borough of Charnwood, added: “I recall the many consultation meetings and I am genuinely delighted and privileged to be part of this special occasion, which will prove to be an investment that provides more than simply houses.”
