Paula Gough has been appointed UK development director for infrastructure at Buro Happold, moving on from her former role as key account director to National Highways for Costain where she served for two-and-a-half years.

Prior to that, Gough spent nearly nine years at Arcadis where she held various senior roles within the Highways business.

Early in her career, she was also a civil engineer at Kier Group.

Gough has more than 20 years’ experience in infrastructure, mainly in road and rail for the public sector where she has built out her technical and commercial knowledge of the industry.

Posting her new appointment on social media, she wrote: “I’m incredibly thrilled to share that I am starting a new chapter of my career as UK development director for infrastructure at Buro Happold.

“I have enjoyed my time at Costain Group, meeting and working with some of the most passionate professionals in construction and will always value the experiences gained as well as the friendships and connections established.”

She added: “In my first week here [at Buro Happold], I find myself impressed by the company’s exceptionally bold and dedicated focus on innovation, sustainability and efficiency which has led to unique, quality outcomes for a range of iconic projects around the world.”
