Alex Delin joins from Fieldfisher where two years ago he was promoted to construction disputes senior associate, leading adjudications and project advice for clients on high-profile developments in London.

Delin acts for developers, financers, contractors, subcontractors and architects across residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and pharma projects in both the public and private sectors.

He represents clients in allegations of negligence, defective design and workmanship including fire safety and cladding, suspension, termination, and the value of interim and final accounts.

He has drafted policies for insurance companies, and regularly advises on the provisions of the Building Safety Act.

The specialist construction team Delin is part of sits within Irwin Mitchell’s property division and is led by Mark Clinton, who is a partner at the law firm.

His appointment is a significant addition to the team, complementing the recruitment of non-contentious construction partner Jo Preece last September.

“Alex’s arrival will be a real boost to our national construction practice, particularly in the Southern region,” said Mark Clinton, head of the construction & engineering practice at Irwin Mitchell.

“We had been looking to grow the contentious side of our construction practice and Alex’s experience will particularly help in building safety matters where we are building a strong practice and reputation in large-scale litigation and arbitration and in adjudication.”
