The main contractor on the project has announced the completion and handover to clients Peabody and the Battersea Power Station Development company of Phase 4a, three years after it joined the major development.

Since then, Ardmore has delivered 386 new homes on site for shared ownership and affordable rent across seven blocks up to 18 storeys in height.

The contractor also delivered the shell and core of a new 17,000 sq. ft NHS medical centre and 12,000 sq. ft of flexible workspaces for local business use.

The Battersea Power Station site in Wandsworth, which was originally occupied by several low-rise industrial buildings, is a decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of River Thames in Nine Elms, Battersea, now Grade II listed.

The London landmark and surrounding area has since been overhauled into a mixed-use neighbourhood with more than 140 shops, bars and restaurants, leisure and entertainment venues, as well as offices, apartment towers and parks.

Designed by architects Patel Taylor, Phase 4a is a £120 million project in classic redbrick arranged around a garden square.

“Our team have worked hard for the last three years to deliver the development, and Ardmore are extremely proud to have played a major part in one of the most ambitious regenerations London has ever seen,” said Ardmore Group.
