Galliford Try has appointed David Lowery to the newly-created position of divisional managing director – Infrastructure.

Glennan Blackmore will succeed Lowery as managing director of the group’s Infrastructure business in August, joining from Skanska, where he most recently led the Highways sector.
Since joining the company from Eiffage in 2021, Lowery has been instrumental in raising Galliford Try’s profile in the Highways sector, developing workstreams for National Highways, local authorities and Major Projects, and growing the order book.
Before Eiffage, he held senior positions at Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB) and also Carillion.
In his new role, Lowery will advance the group’s Sustainable Growth Strategy within the Environment (Water) and Infrastructure businesses, while developing both units in their respective sectors.
Lowery will become an official member of Galliford Try’s Executive Board from 1 July.
Bill Hocking, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: “This is an exciting time for Galliford Try as we set out our strategy to 2030 and David’s appointment marks an important milestone in advancing this.
“The strength of his technical skills, combined with his leadership experience, and the recent appointment of Mark Shadrick, our managing director for Environment, and now Glennan, will enable us to grow the business in a disciplined way, and capitalise on long-term growth opportunities.”
