Four suppliers have been appointed to deliver a three-year programme of improvements to the UK Government estate.

Arcadis, Tetra Tech, AtkinsRéalis and McBains have been selected by the Government Property Agency (GPA) to deliver its Workplace Services Projects (WSP), via the Crown Commercial Services framework.

The consultancies will provide project management, cost management, design, and health & safety services to the government property manager.

The wider portfolio of works includes but is not limited to professional services, net zero and retrofitting packages, building refurbishment and replacement works.

The Office of Government Property (OGP), part of the Cabinet Office, is responsible for the ongoing management of one of the biggest property portfolios in the UK, comprising more than 140,000 buildings and with a property asset value of £2.1 billion

Dominic Brankin, GPA’s workplace services director, said: “These latest contract awards are significant steps in our desire to combine public sector know-how and private sector expertise with commercial acumen.

“The GPA is tasked with providing a service to central government departments through the management of an integrated and shared estate.

“Sustainability, net zero targets and economic regeneration are essential elements of our mandate to improve the Government estate and provide a smaller, more efficient and greener estate for civil servants across the United Kingdom.”
