Cardo Group has acquired building refurbishment and decorating specialist A&N Lewis Limited for an undisclosed sum – and forecasts rocketing revenues for the business this financial year.

A&N Lewis was founded in Cardiff in 1987 and is a contractor in the South Wales area specialising in general building works, retrofit and specialist painting and decorating works to corporate properties.

Directors Andy Gentile, Andy Gooch and Garry White will continue leading the business, with Gentile taking on the new role of managing director.

Housing maintenance specialist Cardo Group was formed when social housing contractor LCB Group was sold by its founder, Liam Bevan, now CEO of Cardo Group, to private equity firm Buckthorn Partners.

It was started to support social housing providers with compliance, retrofit, maintenance and decarbonisation services.

Cardo recently also acquired the property maintenance division of construction solutions provider Osborne Group, and building maintenance specialist Jefferies Contractors Limited.

This latest acquisition, Cardo Group’s fourth in less than a year, will take the group’s annual turnover to £170 million in FY2024/25, compared to £115 million six months ago, it said.

Bevan said: “It was obvious when I first met the team at A&N Lewis that they’d make a great fit for us as we continue to extend Cardo’s service offering across public buildings as well as social housing, with an increasing focus on retrofit work.

“The professional and experienced team at A&N Lewis will give us an extra string to our bow in the South Wales area, especially in the field of public and corporate building refurbishment where we are seeing increased opportunities for PAS 2038 compliant retrofit works.”
