Former Keltbray highways boss joins McAlpine

Sir Robert McAlpine has bolstered its Infrastructure team with the appointment of Vip Gandhi as managing director of Transport.

Gandhi was formerly the managing director of highway and renewables at Keltbray, as well as a member of the board of trustees at Safer Highways. 

He previously operated in project board director positions on key infrastructure projects in the UK, including HS2, the A14 Cambridge road, Lower Thames Crossing, and the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine project from Penrith to Scotch Corner.  

He also held senior posts at Jacobs for 20 years, including sitting on the board of RingwayJacobs.  

Gandhi will drive the growth strategy in the Infrastructure business and oversee delivery of major transport projects. 

He said: “Sir Robert McAlpine is one of the most prestigious companies in our industry, which delivers on the UK’s most important infrastructure projects, and I look forward to continuing this legacy and pursuing new growth opportunities.” 

McAlpine has also appointed two new framework directors, Richard Parker and David Polkey, who will be responsible for the delivery of nuclear work at Sellafield.
