At Gallows Corner Flyover, in Romford, the contractor will create the detailed design and deliver the restoration of the complex structure, which joins the A127 to the A12 over the roundabout, enabling access to the M25.

This latest contract award follows on from the completion of the concept design phase.

Costain will also produce the concept and detailed designs for renewals to Brent Cross Interchange, in Barnet, a major junction used by more than 120,000 drivers each day.

It connects two dual carriageways, the A406 and A41, and is made up of the A41 flyover and a gyratory above the A406, which also provides access to the M1 North and the A5.

Andy Clarke, Costain director for integrated transport, said: “We’re proud to be a trusted partner of Transport for London and we look forward to collaborating with our partners on these exciting projects.

“With a focus on delivering value for money, we’ll identify the most effective and innovative way to make these vital improvements to the local infrastructure.

“At the same time, we will reduce the scheme’s carbon footprint and minimise the impact of construction on road users and the local community.”
