New hire for Galliford Try Environment

Galliford Try has appointed Stuart Barefield to the role of head of technical development for its Environment division.

Barefield joins the group from environmental engineer Nijhuis Saur Industries and has previously held positions at Hyder Consulting and Wessex Water. 

He brings more than 33 years’ experience in managing technical operations within the water sector, as well as developing and implementing strategic policies and plans to drive organisational performance. 

Barefield will develop and expand the Environment division’s technical offerings, ramping up activities in asset optimisation and performance to accelerate the growth of the Water Technologies business.  

He will report into Rob Smith, strategic development director of Galliford Try’s Environment division, and become part of the business’ senior leadership team.  

He said: “Galliford Try has an enviable position in the water sector and I am delighted to join the business at a key time in the water sector calendar, as Galliford Try develops and expands its technical offerings.”
