Shropshire M&E contractor Dodd Group has delivered healthy revenue and profits in its latest results, against challenging inflationary and supply issues.
Turnover for the Telford-headquartered company for the year ended 31 March 2023 was £206.7 million, compared to £167.4 million in the previous financial period.
Gross profit was reported at 43.8 million, up from £36.8 million in FY2022, and the group’s operating profit was £3 million, up from £2.4 million the prior year.
Profit before tax was £3.5 million (FY2022: £2.7 million), and profit for the year was £2.9 million (FY2022: £2.2 million).
Dodd Group’s cash position was reported at £38 million, compared to £40.8 million in the prior period.
Net assets were valued at £47.4 million (FY2022: £44.9 million).
Interim dividends of £450,000 were paid, in line with FY2022 results. Directors did not recommend payment of a further dividend.
“The construction division has continued to secure sizeable projects generating both repeat business with existing clients and fostering beneficial relationships with new customers,” said the business.
Adding: “The year under review continued to be impacted by challenging inflationary and supply issues, both of which eroded construction margins on fixed price contracts.”
Dodd Group said it had seen a “growing emergence” of decarbonisation and retrofit works on large-scale renewables and building fabric upgrades.
