Leadership shake up at Arup

Arup has announced the appointment of Paula Walsh as its new UK, India, Middle East and Africa (UKIMEA) chairperson.

Walsh takes over from Jerome Frost who will succeed Dr Alan Belfield as the next chairperson of Arup Group from 1 April 2024. 

Also from 1 April 2024, Walsh will oversee a 7,000-strong team delivering advisory, planning, engineering and design services across a range of markets including energy, property and transport.  

She joined the consultancy as a structural engineering graduate in 1989 and has held several leadership positions within the firm.  

Walsh is currently the London and South East geography leader and a UKIMEA board member.

She said: “It is a privilege to be appointed as chairperson in this region. I am passionate about creating teams that work together and look forward to collaborating with colleagues, clients and industry partners as we continue to drive innovative, sustainable solutions that deliver positive outcomes in the short and long term.”
