WSP appoints UK deputy CEO

Professional services consultancy WSP has appointed Paul Reilly to UK deputy CEO.

Reporting to Mark Naysmith, regional CEO for the UK, Nordics and EMEA, Reilly will lead the UK’s strategic priorities and project delivery.  

He starts his new role in January 2024, having led the Planning, Advisory and Local Government business at WSP UK. 

Reilly joined the firm as managing director for Planning and Advisory in 2022, subsequently becoming executive MD in 2023.  

His remit included leading the UK’s front-end advisory services and growing the business, while supporting the government’s growth agenda and its response to climate challenges. 

Reilly has had a career in the industry spanning 36 years, coupled with active participation on various boards including as chairman of the Association of Consultancy and Engineering.  

“When I joined the company, WSP’s leadership in the environmental, transport and planning sectors across the UK was well known, and I have been delighted to contribute to shaping it even further,” said Reilly.  

“We are beyond the middle of our Strategic Growth Plan, and in my new role I look forward to working with our leadership team across the UK to ensure we achieve our ambitions across our wide portfolio of sectors and clients in the built environment.”  

Naysmith added: “Paul’s experience of leading high performing teams throughout his career has been a huge benefit to WSP since he joined. I’m confident his leadership will continue to be a valuable asset towards achieving our goals and I look forward to working closely with him to achieve our ambitions.”
