Bennett Construction will deliver a new retirement village in Cambridgeshire valued at more than £50 million.
The firm was selected by Rangeford Villages to build 147 retirement properties in Stapleford, bordering Magog Down, a 163-acre reserve.
It marks the second major construction contract Bennett has secured in Cambridgeshire in recent weeks.
The first phase of “Strawberry Fields” is expected to complete in 2024, with the wider development due for completion in 2025.
The wider scheme will include a wellbeing centre with a pool, steam room and sauna, as well as a gym, dance studio, bistro, coffee shop and bar, village hall and a hair and beauty salon.
“We are delighted to begin work on the Stapleford project for Rangeford,” said Paul McGee, joint managing director of Bennett Construction. “This is a flagship project for ourselves and our client in the retirement living sector and we look forward to delivering a very high-quality product in the collaborative approach that we bring to all of our projects.”
