Jonathan Willcock will join the company in the new year as its transportation managing director.

Prior to this he spent three years as MD of Skanska UK’s infrastructure business, working in sectors including highways and rail.

Willcock also spent seven years as managing director of Alstom Transport UK’s systems, signalling and infrastructure division, winning maintenance and renewal work from Network Rail.

He said: “Costain has a leading reputation within the infrastructure industry, and I’ve always enjoyed working with them on collaborative projects.”

Adding: “The breadth of Costain’s service offering is a unique selling point, and I’m looking forward to building on our relationships with our transportation customers and showing how we can meet their needs.”

David Taylor will remain interim managing director for transportation at Costain until Willcock’s arrival in early April 2024.

“I’m delighted that Jonathan has chosen to join Costain at such an exciting time,” said Costain CEO, Alex Vaughan. “Infrastructure will play a significant part in how we respond to the challenges of climate change and boosting economic growth.

“I know that the addition of Jonathan to our executive team will help Costain contribute positively to these challenges and support the growth and diversification of our services across the transportation market.”
