Group finance director, Andrew Duxbury, has tendered his notice and will soon take up the role of chief financial officer (CFO) at Persimmon.

“I have very much enjoyed my time at Galliford Try and would like to thank all my colleagues for their support,” said Duxbury.

“I will leave the business in an excellent position, with a strong balance sheet, an experienced finance and management team, and well placed to deliver further sustainable growth.”

Duxbury has worked in various finance roles at Galliford for more than 10 years.

Prior to that he spent 16 years at PWC.

Persimmon Group chief executive, Dean Finch, will be responsible for the company’s finances until Duxbury joins, supported by Group financial controller, Mike Smith.

Duxbury’s start date will be announced in due course.

Galliford Try chief executive, Bill Hocking, said: “On behalf of the board I would like to thank Andrew for the contribution he has made since the successful divestment of the housebuilding business in 2020 and in supporting the Group’s year-on-year sustainable growth. The Board wishes Andrew the very best in his new role.”
