BITA president, Paul Whitnell led the launch event in the Battlebridge Room, at Kings Place, in London, on Wednesday 20 September.

Guests enjoyed networking in a packed room of construction, infrastructure and rail professionals, before hearing a panel discussion on the state of the UK rail sector, moderated by David Perrotton, group commercial director at Emico Ltd.

Panellists on the day were Richard Logue from PSP, Simon Morgan and Jeff Davies from Network Rail, and Chris Raven also from Emico.

Representatives from the Rail Industry Association and the Institute of Engineering and Technology were also present, as well as individuals working on HS2.

After the panel discussion, attendees carried on networking in the nearby Rotunda Restaurant.

Network service provider Circet Ireland & UK (formerly KN Group) sponsored the event.

“BITA has always had many members in construction, but our members in rail face very specific challenges so with this event, and the launch of the BITA Rail Division, we are moving to provide more support, advice and networking for the UK rail industry,” said BITA.
