Balfour Beatty Communities (BBC), a national real estate investment and management company specialising in residential properties, has announced the appointment of David Berman as its inaugural chief compliance officer.

This strategic addition underscores BBC’s dedication to a corporate ethos rooted in strong ethical values and integrity.

Berman will spearhead the implementation of operational and regulatory compliance initiatives across the entire organisation.

He will take the lead in introducing fresh, comprehensive measures aimed at further ingraining ethics and compliance within the company’s fabric.

His role will play a pivotal part in nurturing a culture of ethics and compliance among BBC’s workforce, which numbers more than 1,400 employees.

Berman will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to Chris Williams, president of Balfour Beatty Communities.

“Trust in our business stems from a culture of ethical behavior and compliance that is embraced by every one of our employees,” said Williams. “I’m delighted to work with David and welcome the practical approach to ethics, compliance and risk management he brings as we continue to grow and enhance this important function across the business.”

Berman brings nearly two decades of experience as a seasoned compliance and investigations expert to his new role at Balfour Beatty Communities.

He arrives at the company following a successful tenure at Lyft, Inc., where he played a pivotal role in the development and oversight of their ethics and compliance programme.
