Cardo Group has made its third acquisition in four months with the purchase of building maintenance specialist Jefferies Contractors Limited for an undisclosed sum.
West Midlands-based Jefferies was founded by Terry Ware in 2008 and is a specialist in the social housing maintenance sector.
Ware will take on the role of operations director, while fellow director at Jefferies, Leigh Bullock, will step up to managing director.
Cardo recently also acquired the property maintenance division of construction and solutions provider Osborne Group, as part of an ongoing restructure.
This latest acquisition takes the Group’s annual turnover to £115 million and its employee headcount to more than 650.
Housing maintenance specialist Cardo Group was formed when social housing contractor LCB Group was sold by its founder, Liam Bevan, now CEO of Cardo Group, to private equity firm Buckthorn Partners.
It was started to support social housing providers with compliance, retrofit, maintenance and decarbonisation services.
“I am delighted to welcome everyone at Jefferies to the Cardo Group,” said Bevan. “This is the third company we have acquired with strong shared values and a demonstrable ability to improving the quality, energy efficiency and warmth of social housing homes and other properties.
“This collective reputation gives us a strong foundation to seize emerging business opportunities. The acquisition of Jefferies extends Cardo Group’s geographical reach into the Midlands, and we are looking to build on that with a target to double Jefferies’ turnover in the next three years.”
