Buckingham Group has reorganised its senior management team.
Group managing director, Ian McSeveney, has tendered his resignation.
The Group said this was due to “long-term health reasons”.
Deputy group managing director, Simon Walkley, has been promoted to group MD.
McSeveney has been with the company 17 years and spent the past nine as a director.
He will remain a director until later in the year, while closing out some operational matters.
Walkley joined the company in January 2008 and became a company director in 2014.
He became deputy group MD in April 2021.
His role included overseeing three key divisions at Buckingham Group, as well as his leadership on Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ).
“It is therefore a natural and seamless development that Simon is now being promoted to Group Managing Director,” said the Group.
Also, Ian Burford has been promoted to group director building.
He will join the Board as a company director during 2024.
Reporting directly to Walkley, Burford will work closely with building MD, Dave Sizer, and the wider build team.
Burford will also retain a focus on the pre-construction phase in building, and sports and leisure.
“The Board commend Simon and Ian Burford on their respective promotions and extend their thanks to Ian McSeveney for his contribution to the growth and success of the business,” said Mike Kempley, executive chairman.
“These developments are part of the continued evolution of the Company and demonstrate the strength in depth of our senior management team.”
