Home builder, Weston Homes, has launched a new mixed-use residential-led development in Wood Green, London, called Caxton Green, spanning around 7,316 sqm.

An eight minute walk away from Wood Green Underground Station (Zone 3), the site includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments, a commercial space, and a communal courtyard.

Weston Homes purchased the site from home builder, Aitch Group, and received planning permissions from the London Borough of Haringey in May 2021, according to PBC Today

Construction began in May 2022, and is set to complete in July 2024.

Inside the scheme

PRP Architects was involved with the design for Caxton Square, and procurement and construction is being led by Weston Homes.

The initial plans lay out 75 residential apartments, 50 for private sale and 25 for affordable housing, comprising 10 shared ownership and 15 London affordable rental units.

Precautions around carbon emissions and heating include a communal gas boiler with provisions for connection to future district heating systems. Additional features include high-efficiency ventilation and low energy lighting.

Weston Homes focuses on developing sites in areas like Wood Green because they are within a 10-15 minute walking distance from railway stations and other forms of transport.

“These apartments at Caxton Square have been designed to offer ease of maintenance and running efficiency and will be perfect for those wanting to live within commuting distance to Central London,” said Suzanne Aplin, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Weston Homes.
