Andy Beard takes up the role of managing director (MD) for infrastructure in Europe, having spent the last two years leading Mace’s cost and commercial service.

Before joining the group in 2022, Beard was a partner at Arcadis. He led the global cost management business and formed part of the executive leadership team for the global places business.

He has extensive experience across the infrastructure sector having held leadership positions at Gatwick, Heathrow, Thames Water, Network Rail, Tideway, TfL and London Underground.

Beard will head up Mace’s UK and European mobility, resilience, defence and national security consultancy teams.

Mace Consult has also announced the appointment of Ceri Evans who joins in May as the new global lead for cost and commercial, taking over from Beard.

Evans spent 14 years at Bechtel, most recently leading contracts and procurement for its infrastructure business across EAMS UK&I.

An experienced leader with more than 20 years in strategic, operational, programme, portfolio and commercial management roles, she also worked on major rail programmes including the West Coast Route Modernisation, Reading Station Area Redevelopment, and Crossrail.

Jason Millett, Mace’s deputy group chief executive and CEO of Consult, said: “Our infrastructure work in Europe continues to grow from strength to strength, and the creation of this role – and Andy’s appointment into it – marks a significant moment for Mace Consult as we continue to target some of the continent’s most complex and challenging projects.

“I look forward to working with Andy as he works with our teams across Europe; from Reykjavik to Amsterdam, and from Warsaw to Dublin, Suffolk and Somerset.

“At the same time, Ceri’s appointment to lead the cost and commercial team will ensure that we’re able to build on the strong foundations Andy has left – her record of exceptional project and programme delivery is a fantastic match for our ambitious cost and commercial expertise.”
