Record turnover and orderbook for Lee Marley

Berkshire-headquartered Lee Marley Brickwork Limited has returned to profit and delivered record revenue.

Turnover for the year ended 31 December 2023 was £79.8 million, up from £65.6 million in the previous financial year, generating a pre-tax profit of £2.8 million (FY2022: £2.2 million loss).  

The company said the growth in both its brickwork and scaffolding divisions was driven by its long-standing client relationships.  

Lee Marley also started FY2024 with a record order book value of £114 million, compared to £81 million the year prior.  

Net assets were valued at 7.3 million (FY2022: £5.8 million). 

“Our core market has remained strong with most large-scale developments underpinned by growing investment in affordable housing and institutional investment in rental homes,” said the business.  

Founded in 1997, Lee Marley is one of the UK’s largest integrated masonry and scaffold subcontractors.  

The business operates nationwide from its offices in London, Reading and Glasgow. 

Some of its biggest clients include Balfour Beatty, McAlpine, BAM, Vistry Group, Morgan Sindall, McLaren Construction, Kier and Costain.  

“We continue to operate within our available facilities and we have a resilient balance sheet, underpinned by continued investment in plant, equipment and staff, which positions the business for growth in 2024 and beyond,” said Lee Marley.
