TClarke will be involved in the development of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, with construction continuing through 2024 and 2025.
Building works on the main 24,500m facility are due to begin in 2025.
The plans for the hospital involve relocating the cardiology and pharmacy services to make way for a new pathology building.
The main facility will also bring the maternity, neonatal, paediatric, obstetrics and gynaecology services together, replacing the Princess Alexandra Maternity Wing.
Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and smart digital innovations will be used in the project to support the NHS’s carbon net zero ambitions and quality of care. These include:
- Sensory and interactive play areas
- Remote care systems
- Enhancements to patient call systems
The hospital is part of the Government’s New Hospital Programme, which looks to deliver 48 hospitals across England by 2030.
“It is no secret that TClarke has been working to develop our presence in Healthcare over recent years and this win shows we are very much on track. These projects fit our growth plans going forward in every way,” said Rob Faro, director TClarke UK South.
Construction Wave contacted TClarke UK South for further comment on planning and costs.
