Ireland’s largest construction and engineering firm moved more than 200 of its staff to the new HQ.

The retrofit project focuses on sustainability features and achieved an energy rating of A3, up from D2.

It also includes 18 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations as well as solar panels installed on the roof, external air source heat pumps and VFF air conditioning.

More than 150 Sisk staff and supply chain partners delivered the project, and saved roughly €132,500 (£11,200) in costs by reusing materials.

Upgrading existing buildings accounts for 70 per cent in carbon savings.

Sicon Limited, parent company of Sisk Construction, released a financial report last July which showed the company saw an increase in turnover of €1.73 billion for the year ending 31 December 2022 from €1.48 billion FY2021, with more than 98 per cent of turnover coming from construction activities.

Sisk CEO Paul Brown said: “Our new retrofit HQ has been a huge undertaking and now we have a new home that is reflective of our modern business, we’re no longer ‘just’ builders, but trusted construction experts.

“Our message is clear, we have been in business for 165 years and we want to continue to have a positive impact on future generations to come.”
