Angus Murray joins from US multinational engineering and construction firm, Fluor Corporation, where he has worked for 25 years.

He replaces outgoing CEO, Andy Dean, who will conclude his seven-year tenure on 30 August to return to Balfour Beatty Investments.

Murray’s most recent role was vice president (VP) operations advanced technologies and life sciences (AT&LS) EAME, alongside serving as a board member for Fluor Limited in the UK and Fluor BV in the Netherlands.

His time at Fluor was marked by his leadership on major, complex projects across the UK and US, his management of Fluor’s offices in the Philippines, and his oversight of Quality and Continuous Improvement on a global scale.

Murray, who began his career as an engineer with Tarmac, officially assumed his new role as CEO and joined the board at Connect Plus this week.

He said: “I am incredibly excited to join the largest ever highways PFI project in the UK. The M25 is iconic around the world, and I am eager to join the team and to contribute to its future success, ensuring it continues to be a vital part of the UK’s infrastructure.”

Connect Plus is a consortium that includes Balfour Beatty as well as Edge Orbital Holdings and Egis Investment Partners.

The business has a 30-year contract with National Highways to operate and manage the M25 and its key arterial link roads, including the Dartford-Thurrock River Crossing.

It continues to be National Highways’ flagship public finance initiative (PFI) and is the largest highways PFI project ever awarded in the UK.
