Ibstock aims for ‘UK’s first net zero bricks’ after £510m revenues

Brickmaker Ibstock aims to manufacture the ‘UK’s first net zero bricks’ by the end of 2023 – as it reports revenues of £510 million for last year.

Investment in the firm’s Aldridge and Atlas wire cut plants in the West Midlands will go towards its sustainability targets.  

It follows a 25% rise in revenues for the company in 2022. 

The Leicestershire firm is reportedly aiming for 20% of its sales by the end of the decade to come from new sustainable products, and to be net zero by 2040.   

Ibstock is one of the UK’s leading brickmakers and supplier of brick products, with 16 brick manufacturing sites supplied by 19 quarries. 

The firm also has a concrete division across 14 plants.
