Revenue and profits up at concrete frame specialist

Corby-based concrete frame contractor, MPB Structures Limited, has reported an increase in revenue and profits in its latest financial statement.

Turnover for the year ended 30 September 2023 was £112 million, up from £99 million in the previous financial period, generating a pre-tax profit of £4.7 million (FY2022: £3.8 million).   

The Northamptonshire-headquartered business generated an operating profit last year of £5.3 million, up from £4.2 million in the prior financial year.    

Net assets were valued at £28 million, up from £24.8 million in the year before, with cash at £3 million, up from £2.4 million in FY2022. 

Ordinary dividends were paid during the year, amounting to £341,194, but company bosses did not recommend payment of a final dividend. 

Profit after tax for the year was £3.4 million (FY2022: £2.9 million). 

MPB operates as a Tier One concrete frame contractor to national developers, housebuilders and infrastructure main contractors across commercial, student and residential developments, and civils infrastructure markets.  

“[The] financial period has been within the post-Brexit trading conditions and the post-Covid-19 pandemic, and the company has responded resiliently with a gross margin of 10.5 per cent (11.6 per cent 2022) and net profitability 4.2 per cent (3.9 per cent 2022) through this period for which we are grateful to our people, clients and suppliers for their significant contributions,” said the business.
