The construction access specialist said the deal will strengthen its brand by adding the design and manufacturing capabilities of the CAS Common Tower system to its contracting and hire offering.

Brogan director, Wayne Smith, said: “I see demand for the common tower increasing worldwide and by adding a manufacturing capability, we will greatly increase our appeal to new users and for new applications.”

Brogan, in Hertfordshire, is actively seeking to acquire more businesses and international partners with similar capabilities as CAS.

The company has operations in the UK, Ireland, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and currently employs in the region of 700 people.

Recent accounts show the business delivered turnover of more than £12 million in FY2022, up from £11.3 million the year before.

The CAS Common Tower system

The common tower system has been used globally on high-rises where hoists are arranged around a central access tower.

The tower and footprint reduce the amount of cladding left out during construction and provides a central point for all vertical access, including the option of an integrated staircase.

The acquisition augments Brogan’s current range of access solutions which also includes hoists, scaffolding, mast climbers, crane decks and cradles.

CAS founding director, Tony Faulkner, joins the group in a global sales role to promote the common tower system.

Smith added: “We believe the CAS system is the best in the world. Being alloy it is lightweight and easy to pre-fabricate floors at ground level before lifting into position, whilst its inherent load bearing capacity has the potential to service in excess of 500m building heights.”
