Polinsky will assume the role in March 2026, succeeding Alan Brookes, who will step down after 25 years with the company, following a long-term succession planning process.

Having joined Arcadis in 1999, Polinsky brings more than 30 years of experience.

She began her career at the US Army Environmental Command before moving on to leadership roles at Arcadis and Malcolm Pirnie, an environmental consulting firm, where she served as chief operating officer and played a key role in the company’s strategy and its 2009 merger with Arcadis.

Since 2023, Polinsky has led Arcadis’ most profitable division, resilience, driving sustained growth and margin improvement.

On her new role, Polinsky said: “My priority is to drive growth, strengthen performance, and accelerate the actions needed to position Arcadis for its next phase of success.”

Arcadis’ chairman, Michiel Lap added: “Arcadis is focused on reinvigorating growth and strengthening its market position, and this is the right moment for new leadership to take those priorities forward as we prepare for the next strategic cycle.”

He thanked Brookes for his leadership and his contributions for positioning the company into its next phase of growth and transformation.

Brookes said: “It has been a privilege to lead Arcadis and to work alongside Arcadians around the world.

“I am proud of all we have achieved and confident that Arcadis is well set for the future.

“Heather is an exceptional leader, and I look forward to supporting a smooth transition.

In its latest financial results for the year ended 31 December 2024, Arcadis UK reported a pre-tax profit of £5.8 million (FY2023: £8 million) on revenue of £66.6 million (FY2023: £86.5 million), supported by a solid order book and a promising pipeline of work in the sustainability sector.
