Construction equipment specialist Vp plc is seeking a new CEO as its incumbent, Anna Bielby, has announced her intention to step down next year.

In a statement, issued this week, Bielby said: “My decision to step down as CEO has not been an easy one. Vp is a great business with a rich heritage and a bright future, and this role has been a pleasure and a privilege.”
Bielby will continue to lead the group as chief executive until 31 March 2026, at which point she will leave the business to pursue “interests outside of the corporate world”.
She joined Vp in January 2023 and ascended to CEO in September that year.
Bosses said she had played a pivotal role in building a strong leadership team and positioning Vp for long-term growth, adding the hunt to recruit her successor had begun.
“I am proud of the significant progress we are making, and I am committed to leading the business over the next six months, working alongside the leadership team and the Board to continue to deliver our strategy,” Bielby added.

Vp enjoyed a solid start to the year, with strong momentum in the infrastructure and specialist construction markets, particularly in London and Ireland.
Plus, its launch of Vp Rail, an integrated business for the rail industry, is positioning Vp to benefit from future opportunities within the rail sector.
The group has also committed a £65 million capex investment in its rental fleet, to support work in growth markets – and its acquisition of Charleville Hire and Platform in October last year is increasing its presence in Ireland.
Executive chairman, Jeremy Pilkington, said: “On behalf of the Board and all at Vp, I would like to thank Anna for the significant contribution that she has made.
“Her leadership and energy have been instrumental in evolving the group’s strategy and building solid foundations for the future.
“We respect her decision and are pleased that she will lead the group through this transitional period as we continue to deliver on our strategic objectives.”
