Galliford Try-owned Morrison Construction has announced a change in leadership.

Gordon Williamson has been appointed managing director for Morrison Construction’s Building Highland business.
He joined the Morrison Construction team as a site manager in 2006, before working his way up to his current role as construction director.
Williamson succeeds Donald McLachlan, who is retiring after 13 years in the role and 22 years at the business.
During his time with the company, he has worked on major projects such as the Nucleus Archive building at Caithness, as well as driving the Building Highland’s recent success in the distillery sector.
Ian Jubb, divisional managing director for building, said: “Gordon has a wealth of experience, is extremely well supported by a very strong senior leadership team, and it always gives me satisfaction when we demonstrate our succession planning in action by promoting from within the company, reflecting the depth of talent we have within the business.”
Adding: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Donald for his outstanding contribution to shaping our business over the years, his commitment, hard work and the positive impact that he has across the Galliford Try family.”
Morrison, part of the Galliford Try group, was established in Tain, north of Inverness, shortly after the Second World War, and remained in the hands of the Morrison family until 2000, when it was initially acquired by Anglian Water Group.
Four years later, the parts of the business that are now Morrison Construction were sold to Galliford Try.
The group built the housing brands Linden Homes and Galliford Try Partnerships in the 2000s and 2010s, both of which were sold to Bovis Homes in 2020 for £1 billion, later to become the Vistry Group.
