Spencer Civil Engineering has announced two additions to its leadership team, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to growth in the civil engineering sector.

Dan Hurn has been appointed as construction director, bringing his “hands-on approach and years of experience” in construction management and design implementation to the role.
Hurn’s appointment is a promotion from his role as contract manager at the West Yorkshire-headquartered firm.
Overseeing the delivery of some of Spencer’s most complex projects across the North, his new role will see him utilise his experience from project inception through to handover.
Meanwhile, former Peter Duffy commercial director, Rob Hudson has taken up the role of non-executive director, offering industry expertise, commercial insight, and strategic guidance to the leadership team to shape decisions, steer growth, and focus on the firm’s long-term vision.
On the appointments, Spencer said: “Dan’s been a driving force at Spencer Civil Engineering, leading some of our most complex and high-profile projects across the North.
“As construction director, he brings a hands-on approach, years of experience, and a no-nonsense attitude that keeps everything moving – from pre-start to handover.”
On Hudson’s appointment, the spokesperson added: “Rob’s input behind the scenes has been invaluable in supporting the leadership team and pushing the business in the right direction. A steady hand, trusted voice, and a big part of our continued success.”
Founded in 2018 by managing director Ben Williams, Wakefield-based Spencer Civil Engineering has built a reputation for delivering infrastructure solutions, including earthworks, roads and sewers, and groundworks.
