Oliver Connell & Son has announced the opening of a new office to signpost the company’s expansion throughout the UK following a period of growth.

The contractor has made Bristol its headquarters to support a strategic expansion into the southwest of the country, whose region has yielded new work for the Oliver Connell team.
The family-run construction firm took to social media to make the announcement, saying more updates on its existing pipeline of work was also imminent.
It follows Oliver Connell returning a record profit margin and solid balance sheet in October last year, with all key market sectors (construction, aviation, infrastructure) performing as expected and an overall average project profit of £20.3 million (+15 per cent).
The company finished the year with an order book worth £167 million (FY2023: £90 million) and a promising pipeline of work in the renewable energy and data centre markets.
During the last five years, Oliver Connell has also invested heavily in its senior leadership team, including Daniel O’Donovan as finance director, David Heath as health and safety director, as well as senior appointments at site level.

“Due to a period of continued growth, we are proud to announce the opening of our new office in Bristol,” the company announced on social media.
“This will be the HQ for our expansion in the southwest. We look forward to updating you on current and upcoming projects in the region.”
Now, in its 51st year of trading, and with the third generation of the family steadily coming through the ranks, Oliver Connell is one of the UK’s leading specialist contractors, helmed by James (manging director), Tom (director), and Patsy, since 2010, from its base in west London.
Although growth has been steady since its inception, the last decade has seen a meteoric rise in turnover for the business, growing from £9 million in 2010 to £143 million in 2023, with the family-run firm breaking into new sectors in the construction market.
