AECOM has bolstered its UK & Ireland (UK&I) water and energy business with the acquisition of Scottish technical design and advisory services specialist, Allen Gordon, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1971, Allen Gordon has well-established relationships with leading utilities and renewable energy clients in its region, strengthen AECOM’s existing client base.
The move also comes ahead of more than £250 billion of anticipated investment in the water and energy markets over the next decade.

“We have a stated goal of doubling our water business globally over the next five years, and the addition of the Allen Gordon team strengthens our offering in one of the fastest growing markets in the world.”
AECOM’s Environment, Water and Energy (EWE) division was set up in 2022 and has helped deliver National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade, Southern Water’s Professional Services Framework, and the UK’s largest sustainable urban drainage scheme, the Severn Trent Waters flood resilience project, in Mansfield.
Infrastructure consultancy AECOM has been working with water companies to deliver water and wastewater services and respond to climate change as part of the AMP8 regulatory period from 2025-2030.
