As part of the deal, Cardo has taken over a contract with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames for responsive repairs and maintenance, ensuring those services continue uninterrupted.

Housing maintenance firm Breyer Group employs around 250 people across its Breyer Renew, Breyer Repair and Breyer Roofing businesses.

Almost 100 jobs have been saved through the deal with Cardo.

“We are deeply aware of the impact that a sudden collapse can have – on residents, local authorities, and the people who dedicate their careers to delivering essential services,” said Liam Bevan, CEO of Cardo Group.

“Our focus has been on stepping in quickly to provide reassurance, continuity, and stability.

“By acquiring the Breyer Roofing division and taking on key contracts like Kingston, we are not only ensuring that homes are maintained but also supporting skilled workers whose expertise is vital to the sector.”

Bevan added: “We’re working closely with local authorities, registered providers and stakeholders to make this transition as smooth as possible – making sure services continue seamlessly and that new colleagues joining Cardo feel welcomed and supported.”

Housing maintenance specialist Cardo Group was formed when social housing contractor LCB Group was sold by its founder, Bevan, now CEO of Cardo Group, to private equity firm Buckthorn Partners.

It was started to support social housing providers with compliance, retrofit, maintenance and decarbonisation services.

Cardo Group recently announced the acquisition of HeatCare Oil and Gas Limited, aenergy services provider in Scotlandfor an undisclosed sum.

Last year, Cardo acquired building refurbishment and decorating specialist, A&N Lewis Limited.

It has also acquired the property maintenance division of construction solutions provider Osborne Group, and building maintenance specialist, Jefferies Contractors Limited.

Glen Carter, partner at RSM UK and joint administrator, said: We are pleased to have secured a sale of Breyer Group’s roofing division and in a separate transaction, the continuity of the company’s contract with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames to Cardo.

“The transactions have preserved a significant number of jobs and allows services to certain clients to be maintained.”
