Bowmer + Kirkland has started construction of a new manufacturing facility for transport giant Siemens Mobility, valued at £100 million.

The state-of-the art innovation hub, at Southpoint Business Park, in Chippenham, Wiltshire, will pioneer digital engineering and research and development impacting the future of rail technology.
Set to open next year with around 800 employees, Siemens is producing the next iteration of conventional, digital rail signalling and control systems.
Main contractor Bowmer + Kirkland recently broke ground on site, with rail minister Lord Peter Hendy in attendance.
The new facility is targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards.
“Bowmer + Kirkland are delighted to be chosen as Siemens Mobility’s construction partner to deliver this state-of-the-art facility in Chippenham,” said Nick McQuaid, regional director.
“We are also really pleased to continue our relationship with Siemens and bring our vast experience in the delivery of high-quality buildings and our expertise in sustainable construction methods to this project.”
Lord Hendy added: “I look forward to seeing this investment create jobs, boost business, and bolster Wiltshire’s potential.”
