McLaren Construction has broken ground on a new distribution hub in Doncaster for a leading retailer.

The Midlands and North team started construction of a 1 million sq ft facility at the Unity Yorkshire development site for TJ Morris this week, as part of a wider industrial expansion in the area.
In addition to being fully automated, McLaren has been appointed to build a 43-metre-high bay, a separate low bay and cold storage areas at the facility.
Engineering, procurement, and construction services specialist Atkins Realis is also understood to be involved in the scheme.
Unity Yorkshire is a mixed-use regeneration project for new businesses, off Junction 5 of the M18/M180 interchange.
Construction is set for completion in October next year.
“We are thrilled to break ground on this major project for TJ Morris Ltd,” said Stuart Goss, operations director at McLaren Construction.
“This development is a testament to our expertise in delivering high-specification logistics facilities that drive business growth and regional economic development.”

McLaren Construction was recently appointed to build a £29.4 million, 320,000 sq ft urban logistics hub in Crayford, South East London, for Stoford and Axel Logistics.
Before that the contractor was awarded a new office development in the City of London by Helical and Places for London, valued at £125 million.
