Construction materials group GRS has opened a new trading office on the south coast.

The new location at Shoreham Port has been set up to serve customers across Hampshire, East Sussex and West Sussex.

“GRS has a long history of trading aggregates and waste materials on the south coast,” said GRS trading managing director, Antony Beamish.

“A permanent base in Shoreham allows us to build on our local knowledge, develop strong relationships and ensure we offer first-class service in this part of the world.”

In line with activities in other regions, GRS is partnering with local hauliers to shift materials from A to B, while using sea freight to bring in materials from further afield wherever possible, reducing road use and carbon emissions.

GRS is also seeking to maximise the use of high-quality recycled and secondary aggregates to support the local circular economy.

In December 2023, GRS acquired ground stabilisation and enabling works contractor Soil Science Limited in a multi-million-pound deal.

The bolt-on acquisition complemented GRS’s portfolio of contracting services, including enabling works, earthworks, civil engineering and land remediation.

In August last year, GRS opened a new regional office in Suffolk to support house building and energy infrastructure in the East of England.

With a turnover of more than £500 million, the Warwickshire-based firm has been among the UK’s fastest-growing companies in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 four times in recent years.
