A planning application has been submitted for a 46-storey city office building with gardens on every floor, in the City of London.

Investment manager AXA IM Alts submitted the planning application which features a biodiverse office building and a new public park, a multi-function ground level auditorium and other public amenities.
The proposed development will comprise around 635,000 sq ft of space across 46 storeys, 176 metres high, at the edge of the City of London’s Eastern Cluster.
Fletcher Priest Architects have designed the building with access to outdoor gardens from every office floor, with more than 100 new trees.
AXA has also hosted public engagement events to inform the design of public spaces and the creation of the new Camomile Park.
The proposals include the unveiling of a currently buried section of London’s ancient Roman Wall, within Camomile Park.
The remaining churchyard of St. Augustine Papey will also be retained as part of the park.
The new public amenity connects the ground plane with a series of landscaped walkways and balconies.

Cultural infrastructure will deliver additional amenities including a multi-function auditorium opening onto the new public realm, and the lower levels will feature food and beverage outlets.
The development aims to be fossil fuel free, all-electric building, targeting BREEAM Outstanding, NABERS 5 Star and net zero carbon in operation.
Rob Samuel, UK Head of Development at AXA IM Alts, said: “Designed as a low carbon building for future generations, 63 St Mary Axe will help to address the significant shortage of high quality, modern, sustainable and amenity-rich workspaces, not just in the City but across central London as a whole.”
Last June, Multiplex was appointed by AXA to build a biodiverse office tower on 50 Fenchurch Street which is expected to become one of the lowest carbon workplace towers in the UK.
Construction for the 36-storey tower is underway, with target completion in 2028.
