Cardo Group has announced the acquisition of property maintenance services company, Rodgers & Johnston Limited (R&J), for an undisclosed sum.

Holytown-headquartered R&J provides responsive and planned repairs, electrical works, and refurbishments, for housing associations, local authorities, and public sector clients across Scotland.
Cardo said the North Lanarkshire business will complement its existing M&E, renewables, and retrofit offering, while continuing to operate under its current senior team led by managing director, Greg Johnston.
Established in 1968, R&J is Cardo’s second acquisition of 2025 in Scotland following energy services provider, HeatCare Oil and Gas Limited, in January.
“We are delighted to welcome Greg and the whole R&J team to Cardo Group,” said Cardo CEO, Liam Bevan.
“By combining, we can grow our services and geographical reach and that creates an exciting future for us all.
“Most important is our joint culture for doing our best for clients and residents and that will see us thrive together, in Scotland and beyond.”
Housing maintenance specialist Cardo Group was formed when social housing contractor LCB Group was sold by its founder, Liam Bevan, now CEO of Cardo Group, to private equity firm Buckthorn Partners.
It was started to support social housing providers with compliance, retrofit, maintenance and decarbonisation services.
Last year, Cardo Group acquired building refurbishment and decorating specialist, A&N Lewis Limited.
It has also acquired the property maintenance division of construction solutions provider Osborne Group, and building maintenance specialist, Jefferies Contractors Limited.
Johnston said: “We are very proud of the strong customer-focused reputation we have built over the past five decades.
“Joining Cardo Group represents an exciting new chapter for us, providing opportunities to grow and enhance our service offering while maintaining the high-quality standards our clients have come to expect.”
