The new facility will provide much-needed, purpose-built space for students at Woodfield School and will cater to both primary and secondary-aged pupils.

As part of the £23 million project, Clegg will be enhancing the site with outdoor play areas, including a forest school, to complement the specialist learning spaces and better support the needs of the students.

The project also involves refurbishing the interiors of seven existing buildings and constructing a new car park.

The new school is due to be completed in 2026.

Other members of the project team include:

  • Architects – Glancy Nicholls Architects
  • Civil and structural engineer – BSP Consulting
  • The client’s retained engineer – Ramboll
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering consultants – CPW
  • Landscaping – Gillespies

Michael Sims, managing director at Clegg Construction, said: “Clegg Construction has wide experience of delivering new and refurbished educational facilities and we are extremely proud to have been appointed to redevelop, reconfigure, and repurpose this site.

“The team at Clegg Construction is looking forward to work progressing on this project, alongside our delivery partners.”

Councillor Dr Kindy Sandhu, cabinet member for education and skills at Coventry City Council, said: “Every child in the city deserves to have the best education they possibly can, and this new facility is going to offer that. The new design will provide the best possible learning experiences moving forward.

“It’s really exciting that Clegg will soon be making a start on the construction work at the site. It’s going to be a huge asset for the pupils once it’s all finished and I’m looking forward to seeing the development work progress.”
