Caddick Construction has secured the groundworks and build contract for part of a new regeneration scheme in the Midlands.

The company has been appointed to deliver Phase One of the Upper Trinity Street regeneration project, in Digbeth, Birmingham, by property developer Cole Waterhouse.
A 183,000 sq. ft residential scheme will be built with 211 apartments spanning three individual blocks, 115 of which will be one-bedroom flats and 96 will be two-bedroom, kicking off the wider area regeneration.
Caddick’s contract includes the design and build of the apartments, amenities space, external works and courtyard area, as well as management and fit-out services.
Construction will start soon, following demolition and enabling works, also by Caddick.
It marks Caddick’s second major regeneration development in the Midlands, adding to the nearby Port Loop scheme, which saw 58 new-build apartments delivered for Urban Splash and Places for People.
This latest development, a joint venture between Cole Waterhouse, Taurus, the Housing Growth Partnership, and BGO, is due for completion in Spring 2027.
“Cole Waterhouse has visualised an ambitious and impressive masterplan to create a thriving creative and cultural hub at Upper Trinity Street, and we’re proud to have been appointed to bring this vision to life in Phase One,” said Ray O’Sullivan, regional managing director for Caddick Construction Midlands.
“Caddick has built its extensive expertise delivering high-quality residential projects across the North, and as we take on new and exciting projects in the Midlands, we look forward to bringing our skillset to Upper Trinity Street for our valued client, Cole Waterhouse.”
In October last year, Caddick made two senior hires to head up its Operations team for its Construction division in the Midlands.
John Currie and Ian Calder joined a year after the contractor launched its presence in the Midlands construction market, following the appointment of Ray O’Sullivan as regional MD in July 2023.
