Brendan Courtney, the financial director of formwork & civil engineering contractor Mitchellson, has passed away aged 67.

The company shared a statement announcing Courtney passed away on Monday 23rd December 2024 after a short illness.
Courtney was born in Terenure, County Dublin, in 1957 and joined Mitchellson in 1989, working at the company for more than 35 years.
The firm said in a statement: “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the sudden death of Brendan Courtney.
“He was devoted to Mitchellson and a highly valued and respected member of our work family.
“Brendan would always be the first one in the office and the last one to leave.
“He was an inspiration to all, and we will always remember his hard work and industrious efforts to make the company a success.
“Brendan was an enthusiastic rugby fan and a big follower of London Irish and the Ireland national rugby union team.
“He would attend the rugby matches representing Mitchellson and showed great support and passion from the side lines.
“Brendan was a true gentleman with a witty character, you would always hear his uproarious laugh first before you would see him.
“Our hearts go out to his loving wife Siobhan, and daughters Sarah, Bronagh and Niamh and all the Courtney and McCready family.
“Brendan was a caring and beloved family man, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
