  • Barhale
  • Glanua
  • Kier
  • Mott MacDonald Bentley
  • Tilbury Douglas
  • Ward & Burke

Partners will provide civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control & automation and building capability & expertise as Yorkshire Water invests in clean water and wastewater networks over the AMP8 delivery period.

The water company has committed to invest £8.3 billion across the business, its largest ever environmental investment programme, following recent approval by water industry regulator, Ofwat

What is AMP?

The purpose of Asset Management Plan periods, set by industry regulator Ofwat, is to increase efficiency and service levels within the sector via capital programmes.

In AMP8, water suppliers are facing both environmental and regulatory challenges, including net zero by 2030, reducing sewage spills, and to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Bill Hocking, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: “We have sustained a successful track record of winning places on these key water sector frameworks for the AMP8 period which are a driver of our Sustainable Growth Strategy.

“We look forward to working with Yorkshire Water on this new framework to deliver high-quality facilities that meet their customers’ needs.”

Mark Wood, Barhale regional director (Yorkshire), said: “The long contract term will allow Barhale to continue to grow as a business and to invest in our team.

“Our graduate programme will have a strong base to build on and as we move into the full design and build sector for civil and mechanical and electrical projects and provides us with the opportunity to become a full multi-disciplinary principle contractor construction business.”

Rachael Fox, head of programme delivery at Yorkshire Water, said: “We’re looking forward to working with our chosen partners as we embark on an ambitious investment programme from 2025.

“There’s a big challenge ahead – not only to meet new regulatory requirements, but to meet customer expectations too – and effective collaboration will be key to our success.”
