National contractor-developer, Lovell Partnerships, will help in the delivery of a £280 million regeneration project on the outskirts of London designed to alleviate a local housing shortage.
The company will join the Grahame Park estate redevelopment as part of a joint venture with Barnet Council, enabled by a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
Lovell will deliver a multi-phase redevelopment of the northeast part of the estate, which includes the construction of new homes for affordable rent, shared ownership and market sale, as well as community facilities.
The project will also contribute £500,000 to improve Heybourne Park.
Barnet Homes, the organisation responsible for the management of council properties in the borough of Barnet, will act as project manager and oversee the homes for affordable rent.
The scheme will accelerate the redevelopment project and help meet ongoing housing needs in Barnet where there are currently 2,700 residents living in costly temporary accommodation.
Grahame Park estate
Grahame Park is a north London housing estate which has more than 1,700 council homes built in the 1970s.
The regeneration project aims to create a mixed-tenure community of 4,000 new homes, major infrastructure upgrades and improved transport links as well as bringing existing stock up to the Decent Homes Standard alongside new health, library, community and retail facilities.
Other contractors on site include Notting Hill Genesis and Wates Group, and Mæ Architects.
“Lovell is delighted to be selected by Barnet Council as its joint venture partner for the regeneration of the northeast of Grahame Park,” said Mary Parsons, regeneration & partnerships director for Lovell.
